THE WELCOME WAGON
WHEN I AM DOING A FASHION ILLUSTRATION, MY INSPERATION FOR THE DRAWING IS USUALLY WHATEVER ODD, OFF, UN-FASHION RELATED THING I FIRST THINK OF WHEN I SEE THE CLOTHING. I THEN TAKE THAT ODD THING, MIX IT WITH THE OUTFIT, AND THAT IS HOW ART IS MADE, KIDS!
THIS PIECE IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THAT. I SAW THIS MICHAEL KORS SWIM SUIT / CARDIGAN MIX FROM THE S/S/ 2011 SHOW IN THE NEWSPAPER AND THE 1st THING I THOUGHT OF WAS ONE OF THOSE CHEAP PLASTIC GRASS LOOKIN' WELCOME MATS WITH A SAD PLASTIC DAISY STUCK TO IT. THAT'S NOT TO SAY THE KORS SWIMSUIT IS SAD AND PLASTIC LOOKIN', BUT IT'S THE SAME COLOR OF GREEN AND WAS KIND'A TERRY CLOTH-ISH (THOUGH PROB NOT TERRY CLOTH) SO I THOUGHT, GREEN SWIMSUIT-HOT-SUMMER-GRASS-PLASTIC GRASS-CHEAP PLASTIC GRASS WELCOME MAT!!! IT TOOK YEARS OF COLLEGE EDUCATION TO GET THIS TRICKY FORMULA DOWN, TRUST ME.
