BABY AND THE BEAST
I OBVIOUSLY HAVE A THING FOR MOTHERS WHO MISTREAT THEIR BABIES. I'VE DRAWN SCENARIOS LIKE THIS YSL INFLUENCED ONE SEVERAL TIMES NOW. I JUST SEE SO MANY WOMEN WHO LET THEIR KIDS RUN RAMPANT OR WHO USE THEIR BABY AS A PROP OR AN ACCESSORY, SO I'M JUST TAKING THAT TO THE NEXT LOGICAL STEP AND HAVING MY GIRLS CARRY A PURSE IN ONE HAND AND A NEW-BORN IN ANOTHER. IF YOU COULD GET A VUITTON PRINT ON A BABY I'M SURE MORE PEOPLE WOULD TAKE BETTER CARE OF THEIR KIDS.
I DREW THIS AFTER YVES SAINT LAURENT DIED LAST MONTH. WHEN I LOOKED THOUGH ALL OF MY YSL BOOKS AND TOOK INTO ACCOUNT HOW MUCH HE HAS GIVEN TO WOMEN AND THE WORLD OF FASHION I FELT VERY INSPIRED TO CREATE SOMETHING. THE WOMAN WEARING THE MODERN (sic 80's) YSL SUIT CASTS A SHADOW OF HIS MONDRIAN COLLECTION FROM THE 60'S. WE CAN NEVER MOVE FORWARD IN FASHION WITHOUT PAYING HOMAGE TO WHAT CAME BEFORE.
